Essie 'Summer Collection' Nail Polish

I went to Ulta the other day because my friend told me that they were having the "Buy 2 Nailpolishes get 1 Free" deal and I needed some new colors. I walked in an instantly fell in love with Essie's new collection! There were two other colors besides the ones I am showing, but they weren't that interesting, they were just a plain red and a boring white. These colors make me so happy--they are vibrant and perfect for summer (what a shame that summer is almost over). These colors compliment my tan summer skin and I will continue to wear them even in fall and winter! Essie is my favorite brand of nailpolish because it doesn't chip easily and it is so easy to apply. Just a side note, but J. Crew stopped carrying Essie brand nailpolish... what's up with that?

April Haul

I will admit it... I have a slight shopping addiction. It wouldn't be a bad thing except I have champagne taste on a babysitter's budget... $10/hour isn't the ideal salary for a shopaholic! I have been desperately trying to save my money, but it never seems to work. I always manage to justify my purchases and insist that I need the item. There is something insanely satisfying about seeing something a store and making it yours. What I have been most into this month is dresses! Whenever spring comes around, I get extremely excited about wearing warm-weather things, and dresses are my favorite. Here are a few things that I purchased this month...

More Detailed Pictures...

 Sam Edelman Gladiators $79

Sam Edelman Sandals $99

Vince Tanktops $48

Alice and Olivia Dress $396

Juicy Couture Hoodie $168

Alice and Olivia Dress $330

Laundry by Shelli Segal $295

Rich and Skinny Jeans $165

Where I purchased almost everything! I went down to Neiman Marcus with my sister and mom to look at prom dresses for my sister and ended up finding a ton of stuff that I fell in love with. It is one of the most dangerous stores ever for me because my self control is lacking, and all of the clothes there are so beautiful!

April Favorites

5 things that I have been obsessed with this month...

1. Coral button down shirts! Right after purchasing one at J. Crew, I have been seeing them everywhere. Coral is an extremely flattering color on tons of skin tones and really makes people look more tan.

2. Gold Jewelry! In the winter I was really into silver jewelry, but I am switching sides. I am all about gold now. My favorite piece of gold jewelry is a Juicy Couture sun necklace.

3. Light wash jeans: I tend to lean towards dark jeans because they tend to look better on me, but I am warming up to lighter washes.

4. The "nautical" trend! I like understated nautical things like this blue and white striped shirt.

5. Blue nail polish! Venturing out from pinks and reds in the nail polish department has been fun... I now love how turquoise and bright blue looks on my nails. Essie is my favorite nail polish brand because the formula is so easy to work with.

Outfit of the Day April 18

What I wore today...

Accessories...

I kept jewelry simple for this outfit with a simple black bracelet, and my jeans are slightly too big around the waist, so I added my favorite silver belt. I also wore a pair of silver ball studs to match the belt.
Black wrap bracelet: J. Crew (on sale for $10)

Silver fake-croc belt: Boden ($48)

Shirt...

I have been loving button down shirts lately, and Ralph Lauren is the king of the perfect collared shirt. These mint stripes also follow the spring colors trend!

Mint striped button down: Ralph Lauren ($89.50)

Pants...

I am wearing a lot of lighter colored clothes for spring, so I decided to wear a pair of light wash skinny jeans. I personally am not a fan of light jeans, but I am trying to get used to them! After all, I don't want to be wearing a ton of dark clothes while the weather is so beautiful.

Light skinny jeans: Ann Taylor LOFT ($49)

Shoes...

I am so happy that gladiator sandals have stayed in style, because I am a huge fan! I haven't gotten a pair until this year because I am a very picky shopper and haven't found the perfect ones. After spotting these Sam Edelmans, I had to have them! The fake-croc is such an intricate deal, and the cheetah print on the inside is understated and not trashy.

WATCH the Time

Watches have become a must-have accessory since early 2009. The first time I noticed that a lot of people were wearing watches is when my mom along with many other moms purchased a white watch. There are a ton of white watches varying in price, size, and material.

My absolute favorite white watch is the one below by Chanel. This one retails for around $10,000. It is very pricey, so luckily there are much more affordable options.

One of the most well-known white watches is the one seen in The Blind Side worn by Sandra Bullock. It is a plasterceramic watch by ToyWatch. This watch costs anywhere from $200-$300.

The brand Fossil has been growing in popularity ever since they launched their watch line. The watches are very well made and reasonably priced. This watch only costs $95, which is an amazing price considering the quality.

Michael Kors watches are actually made by Fossil brand watches, but are much more expensive basically because they have a brand name on them. I love Michael Kors watches, though, and I still think that they are worth the price because there are some very unique styles and they are a stunning accessory. This watch costs $225.

Fossil Watches

My favorite watch that I own is by Fossil. I got it for Christmas, and it is bright orange. Bold? Yes. Surprisingly wearable? Yes! I find myself wearing this watch more than even a white one! I love pops of color in an outfit, and a watch is a great way to do that! This orange watch looks best with grey, white, navy, and mint green clothes. The best part about this watch is the price. It retails at only $85!

Crazy for rose gold? I must admit that I am not a fan myself, but if I were to wear a rose gold watch, it would be this one. I love the mix of clear and rose gold. This would look amazing with any blue shirt. The price of this watch is $105.
